Intel Core i7-10700K and i5-10600K Benchmarks in Geekbench
You have to wonder if there's anything left to report after Intel actually launches their Comet lake series desktop processors. Today you can add numbers for Core i7-10700K and i5-10600K, which seem to be roughly at tan Ryzen 3600X and 3800X perf levels.
Thai PC aficionado TUM_APISAK is active on his twitter account again, this round he stumbled into some results on Geekbench, results from 10th gen Core processors named Core i7-10700K (8-core/16-thread) and the Core i5-10600K (6-core/12-thread).
- The eight-core i7-10700K scores 34133 points in the multi-core test, and 5989 in the single-core one, which is close to Ryzen 7 3800X. The processors are listed at 5.1 GHz for its maxed boost frequency.
- The more affordable i5-10600K scores 28523 points in the multi-threaded test, and 6081 points in the single-core test, that's 3600X territory and clocks ion at a max clock of 4.80 GHz.
Both procs could be slightly faster than Ryzen, however, it seems Intel is missing a bit of IPC, as they need rather higher frequencies. And that on its end means more voltage need, and thus the rumors of fairly high power consumption might be a real deal. I included some Ryzen 3600X and 3800X results below as well.

I do not know where you got the Ryzen 3800X scores, but my 3800X absolute stock, no OC, gives 5880 single and 37700 multi in Geekbench 4. That is soo far from the 5782 and 33730 that its not funny. Misleading. So, score for score, the new 10700k is 1.8% faster in single and 9.6% SLOWER in multi. If I where to OC my 3800X just a bit it would beat the leaked single score of the 10700k easily.

Aside from the rumors that its hot and power hungry, still doesnt look too appealing when its not free from the latest exploits to hit Intel chips:

3700x, 3800x even though almost a year older will give it run for its money. Never mind 4th gen Ryzen coming out later in the year.

MAN... the Ryzen 3600 costs now USD 170!!!.... There is NO competition even near of it... its a GREAT CPU... this 10XXX series will be a total failure....
A question that come in m mind now is that... if Intel is asking this prices of a 14+++++++++++ (lost the score)... would you image what prices they will ask when they finally launch a new tecnology???
The next years AMD will dominate the full market!

AMD 3xxx series may even take a dip farther since the 4xxx is coming this fall, making even harder to compete.

Honestly I don't even know why they bothered with this series. Why not just make the 9x series cheaper?
It was already competitive in games (even better) than AMD and just drive their resources to a new process on lower nm.
Who needs fecken 20 threads for gaming anyway ... Also there are live streamers as well who may need more threads if they are running a demanding title while trying to stream it. I can see you reasoning about making the 9x series cheaper however I can see Intel's reasoning for releasing the 10th generation CPUs. Also with the 10th gen there is an improvement in Multithreaded performance especially the i5 and i7 chips listed in the article thanks to having hyperthreading support. Also Intel is trying to play catch up as well.
