Intel Core i7-10700K and i5-10600K Benchmarks in Geekbench
You have to wonder if there's anything left to report after Intel actually launches their Comet lake series desktop processors. Today you can add numbers for Core i7-10700K and i5-10600K, which seem to be roughly at tan Ryzen 3600X and 3800X perf levels.
Thai PC aficionado TUM_APISAK is active on his twitter account again, this round he stumbled into some results on Geekbench, results from 10th gen Core processors named Core i7-10700K (8-core/16-thread) and the Core i5-10600K (6-core/12-thread).
- The eight-core i7-10700K scores 34133 points in the multi-core test, and 5989 in the single-core one, which is close to Ryzen 7 3800X. The processors are listed at 5.1 GHz for its maxed boost frequency.
- The more affordable i5-10600K scores 28523 points in the multi-threaded test, and 6081 points in the single-core test, that's 3600X territory and clocks ion at a max clock of 4.80 GHz.
Both procs could be slightly faster than Ryzen, however, it seems Intel is missing a bit of IPC, as they need rather higher frequencies. And that on its end means more voltage need, and thus the rumors of fairly high power consumption might be a real deal. I included some Ryzen 3600X and 3800X results below as well.

The good things about Intel right now is that all the 10th gen core i series chips have hyperthreading and Intel is still top dog when it comes to gaming. Also Intel is having thermal issues as well with some of their current CPUs.

I wonder why the single score of the i5 is higher than the i7. Power/thermal problems on keeping the max boost clock on single core? ( just wondering ).

Heh, I would like that post again if I could. I mean, yeah, it'll cost $50-100 more, require a mobo that costs twice as much, a cooler that costs $100+ extra, and will have a noticeable impact on your power bill, but it will get you that extra 10fps boost from 170 to 180 in games at 1080p!
