Intel has launched a new desktop processor SKU, the Core i5-13490F, aimed specifically at the Chinese market. The new CPU boasts increased L3 cache and higher clock speeds than its predecessor, the i5-12490F.

It features a 6 Performance core and 4 Efficient core configuration, giving it a total of 10 cores and 16 threads. This makes it a competitor against AMD's Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processors, offering similar performance at highly competitive pricing. The i5-13490F is positioned between the i5-13400F and i5-13500 and comes with a larger L3 cache of 24 MB. It has a maximum boost frequency of 4.70 GHz, which is slightly higher than the i5-13400F. Benchmark tests have shown that the i5-13490F outperforms the i5-13400F by roughly 6% in single-threaded tasks and 4.5% in multi-threaded tasks. It's worth noting that, as an "F" SKU, the i5-13490F does not have integrated graphics.
