Intel Core i9 9900KFC - Fastfood anyone?

Intel Core i9 9900KFC - Fastfood anyone?

Funny, a new Intel Core i9 9900 SKU has surfaced in an AIDA changelog listing, now each of the suffix letters has a meaning, but combined really this is the Core i9-9900 KFC edition, fastfood anyone?

The three letters in the suffix all have a logical meaning, but here they are contradictory. The K means an unlocked multiplier so that it can be tweaked better. F means the lack of an active integrated GPU. The letter C, however, was used in the Broadwell generation, where it stood for an improved integrated GPU with eDRAM. So that is a bit of a clusterfrack.

So the combo of KFC is contradictory unless the letter C specifically refers to the presence of eDRAM between the CPU and the l3 cache. Other information than the SKU name is not known. However, we can expect that it is another variant of the current Core i9-9900KF, so with eight cores and sixteen threads and perhaps a side dish of Grilled Chicken Breast. The listing has been removed from the changelog already. Who knows it was a typo.

BTW also make note of the TU116 (GeForce GTX 1660 Ti series) and the TU107 :-)

Meanwhile, if they made a mobile variant, they could add a U to the mix. At that point, it becomes a fun game of "unscramble that word!"

That's at least 100€ less than current 9900k prices here. Still, too high for average consumer.
Plus, can't beat 2700X price around 335€.
And its a 9700kf variant, so he mixed that a bit.. :)

9900kf is a whopping 620e, we sell 9900k for 598e locally
