Intel Executive Vice President Gregory Bryant conversed with market analysts from Swiss bank UBS and Yahoo! Finance. Here sales figures for the past year have been discussed, they also had an outlook for 2021.

The simple fact it that Intel is selling well, laptops and desktops have been in short supply in relation to COVID-19, Tiger Lake based laptops sold more than 30% higher than estimated. While the transition from desktop to mobile has certainly accelerated thanks to the large number of people working from home, there is still a need for the desktop for a high-end workstation or gaming PC. The third quarter showed better figures than the previous one. Bryant mentions that the presence of competition indicates that the PC market is far from coming to an end. The efforts of Apple and AMD, among others, ensure that only better products will come to the market. The company is therefore currently confident in its position in the market.

Intel is optimistic about 2021. Tiger Lake-H will be available for the mobile market at the beginning of the year, while Rocket Lake will be available for desktops before the end of the first quarter. Alder Lake is expected in the second half of the year. It should be Intel's first-generation desktop processors at 10nm, which would also use a big.little configuration, with faster and more efficient cores.
