Intel Arc Alchemist A770M/A730M benchmarks vs RTX 3060 and 3050 Ti are available

Intel Arc Alchemist A770M/A730M benchmarks vs RTX 3060 and 3050 Ti are available

Both are based on the bigger Alchemist ACM-G10 GPU. No sign of RTX 3070 in this comparison, not to mention RTX 3080 or 3080 Ti. And the numbers have been released by Intel themselves.

Intel is finally publishing benchmark data for the unreleased Arc A7 series. Official gaming performance numbers were released for the A770M and A730M GPUs, both based on the Alchemist ACM-G10 GPU. Tom's Hardware did not publish the original Reviewer's Guide, thus we can't confirm if it's just available to Chinese reviewers. The discrete graphics cards incorporate Intel's ACM-G10 silicon, which was fabricated using TSMC's 6nm production node. The A730M features 24 Xe cores, 24 ray tracing units, and up to 1,100 MHz of clock speed. The better A770M features eight more Xe cores and ray tracing units, as well as a clock speed of 1,650 MHz. Consequently, the A770M provides twice the computational performance of the A730M. Memory configuration also differs significantly between the A730M and A770M. The A730M is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit memory interface, whereas the A770M features 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit memory bus.

A770M targets RTX 3060 and A730M targets RTX 3050 Ti. Mid-range NVIDIA RTX 30 "Ampere" solutions. No RTX 3070, 3080, or 3080 Ti are included in this comparison. This likely suggests Intel has no plans to compete with RTX 3070 series, despite reports. The Guide's figures depict several laptop configurations. Intel didn't offer all the needed data, like GPU TGP targets. Neither RTX 3050 Ti nor 3060 used the best TGP (Max-P) variations. Both Arc GPUs function at higher TGP targets by default, however, Intel didn't confirm those for this test. A730M would be 13% quicker than RTX 3050 Ti and A770M would be 12% faster than RTX 3060.Only A730M laptops have been launched to Chinese gamers; A770M is not yet accessible.

Somehow I doubt these numbers can be reproduced in real world environments by the average joe.
As always, very curious to see @Hilbert Hagedoorn / guru3D's review.

My biggest concern over these Intel GPU's are its drivers... Historically they were horrible, even compared to AMD. It's like, sure the fps seems fine, but is it stable? No visual glitches, hangs, lockups, all the good ol stuff that bad drivers can cause? So Yeah.. Kind of have to wait for proper reviews. BTW, any chance we will see a review on this? Or Intel is still being a douche and not sending samples to Europe?

Either A770M is severely power limited or this is another classic Raja design. Very efficient at low power and then hitting hard bottlenecks once you scale it up.

In my experience, Intel has a tendency to prematurely drop support entirely only for their Windows drivers. On other OSes, Intel's drivers have better stability, better performance, and more features. Even Haswell still sees updates once in a while for their open-source drivers, and Macs are pretty solid.

So, as long as you're not using Windows, Intel is a decent option. I personally will not be recommending Intel to any Windows gamers for at least another 2 years, and I assume Intel isn't going to bother with Mac drivers. But if you use an open-source OS, go for it - should offer great performance and stability.
