Intel 32nm Clarkdale shopws good overclocking perf
The Tech Report reports Taiwanese overclocker Coolaler has overclocked a 32nm Intel Clarkdale sample to 4GHz.
It seems that Intel designed the sample in question to run at 3.07GHz with its two cores, four threads, 256KB of L2 cache per core, and 4MB of shared L3 cache.
Coolaler's reached an okay 4GHz with 0.832V of juice. Presumably, the processor's Turbo-Boost functionality could push individual cores even higher in certain applications, too.
The CPU is supposed to have the same LGA1156 package as upcoming 45nm Lynnfields, but the layout of the bottom capacitors looks consistent with the dual-chip design Intel showed a while back
