Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU will get freeSync Update

Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU will get freeSync Update

Good news, Iiyama's ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 is world's first LCD display that promises to support AMD's FreeSync technology. The screen will ship without support for it, but later on a firmware update will be released allowing freesync.

ProLite B2888UHSU is iiyama's first 28" monitor. It features 4K2K resolution (3840x2160) and offers therefore a gigantic viewable area with 4 times more information and work space than a Full HD screen. Due to the high DPI (dots per inch), it displays an incredibly sharp and crisp image. Users can easily create their own work space by displaying and manipulating multiple applications from two different data sources (i.e. two different PCs) side by side, mimicking a multi monitor set up using only one screen.

Iiyama's ProLite B2888UHSU 4K monitor offers a 60Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time making it ideal for gamers and incorporates a special 1 chip solution to help reduce input lag. Also featuring blue light reduction to help reduce backlight bleed and flicker free technology. Iiyama have gone out of their way to offer a monitor with great features and it even includes a height adjust stand with VESA mount ability.

Specification:-
- Display Screen Size: 28" (70.8cm)
- Resolution: 3840x2160
- Aspect ratio: 16:9
- Panel Type: TN
- Brightness: 300cd/m2
- Contrast Ratio: 1000:1 (Typ)
- Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 10,000,000
- Resolution: 3840x2160 (Only over DisplayPort at 60Hz)
- Response Time: 1ms (GTG)
- Viewing Angle (H / V ): 170 ° / 160 °
- Connectivity: 2x HDMI (30Hz), 2x DisplayPort (60Hz), 1x DVI, 1x Analogue
- USB Hub: Yes
- Speakers: Yes
- PIP, POP
- Height adjust stand
- Blue light reducer
- Flicker Free Technology
- Reduced input lag (1 Chip Solution)
- Warranty: 3yr

The use of Flicker Free Led's guarantees images without any flickering, even when brightness is reduced. Additionally, iiyama's new Blue Light Reducer technology will protect your eyes from light similar to the UVA spectrum, which reduces eye fatigue.

ProLite B2888UHSU features an ergonomic stand which is height adjustable. An extensive range of connectivity options include DisplayPort for true 4K content support at refresh rates of up to 60Hz, 2xHDMI, with MHL support. The latter enables content from a mobile device to be viewed on the screen. ProLite B2888UHSU also features a USB 3.0 HUB, integrated speakers and a headphone socket, to ensure compatibility across various devices and media platforms for a real multimedia experience.

The ProLite B2888UHSU will be launched across Europe by iiyama in the summer of 2014 and will be available at a retail price of £499 incl. VAT (Euro 599 incl. VAT) and a 3 years 'on-site' Advance Exchange Warranty.

OCuK has it listed here.

Don't see the point of this 3840x2160 screen res below a 40" screen size.
Just for bragging rights I think.

I went for 27" 2k to 32" UHD monitor and I can see huge difference at image quality. So its not "only for bragging rights", thou I would take even bigger 4k screen for decent price. 32" is good enough if u got good eye sight, but from 27" 2k it took some time to get used to.
