Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU will get freeSync Update
Good news, Iiyama's ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 is world's first LCD display that promises to support AMD's FreeSync technology. The screen will ship without support for it, but later on a firmware update will be released allowing freesync.
ProLite B2888UHSU is iiyama's first 28" monitor. It features 4K2K resolution (3840x2160) and offers therefore a gigantic viewable area with 4 times more information and work space than a Full HD screen. Due to the high DPI (dots per inch), it displays an incredibly sharp and crisp image. Users can easily create their own work space by displaying and manipulating multiple applications from two different data sources (i.e. two different PCs) side by side, mimicking a multi monitor set up using only one screen.
Iiyama's ProLite B2888UHSU 4K monitor offers a 60Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time making it ideal for gamers and incorporates a special 1 chip solution to help reduce input lag. Also featuring blue light reduction to help reduce backlight bleed and flicker free technology. Iiyama have gone out of their way to offer a monitor with great features and it even includes a height adjust stand with VESA mount ability.

Perception of resolution is only high at the centre of your vision, towards the outer vision it drops of significantly. Vision is also how your mind sees it, not necessarily how it actually is. Apparently also those 1600P or whatever mobile phone screens are just pure marketing.

They're not, I can see a clear difference on the LG G3. Everything is sharper.

Take one of those lovely LCD testers which are meant to enable you to look for broken subpixels.
Pick one with vertical/horizontal black and white lines.
Tell me if you can distinct from your usual viewing distance those lines in center of your field of view.
Then look at left side of screen and tell me if you see gray at right side.
Repeat with top/bottom.
And that is twice as wide angle than looking at center and perceiving sides with peripheral vision.
My 23.5" 1080p screen does not appear as grey to me at all during such test I simply see distinct black and white lines.
And now this above means nothing, because when you look at some detailed thing on your screen, you want to see those details instead of watching fracking big pixels.
Therefore as long as that high definition center of your vision benefits from higher ppi, such screen is not "for bragging rights only".

What's your point? Are you trying to imply higher PPI doesn't matter because your vision is most acute at the center? I suppose the screen door effect on oculus rift is also just pure marketing.
