How To Steal Keyless Mercedes In Under A Minute

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/29/2017 09:14 AM | source: | 36 comment(s)

This Mercedes is gone in 60 seconds. Got a fancy keyless car from Mercedes, Tesla, BMW or another brand? Check out this video, thieves steal a car within a minute. Wireless keys might have a range of maybe 4 meters before your car unlocks, but that doesn't mean the signal can't be boosted (relayed) and manipulated to open and start the car. Tip, you better store your key in a faraday cage like box if you normally keep it in your pocket.

I think Hilbert is waiting on a new Tesla... :D

Yeah!, You're gonna purchase one for me then eh? I'll happily settle for the new Model 3 ;)

Guys, as to the news item. It's technology, hardware hacked by software. I noticed the video and was simply flabberghasted how easy the thieves get away with such cars and decided to post it. It's a bit out of the realm of Guru3D I agree. Don't worry, we're still a PC Hardware / Gaming site :)

Honestly, I would love to see that here on Guru3D, exclusive new Tesla model review out of the pen of Hilbert and I'm sure most of us here on G3D share my oppinion about that.

edit

Yeah Elon!

Actually, I'd do a Model 3 review in a heartbeat. Let's face it, it's like the star trek talking supercomputer shoved into a car. It's the hippest tech in the automotive industry, surely that appeals the bigger part of this audience. This stuff we could do with AfterBurner on this car ! :)
