How To Steal Keyless Mercedes In Under A Minute
This Mercedes is gone in 60 seconds. Got a fancy keyless car from Mercedes, Tesla, BMW or another brand? Check out this video, thieves steal a car within a minute. Wireless keys might have a range of maybe 4 meters before your car unlocks, but that doesn't mean the signal can't be boosted (relayed) and manipulated to open and start the car. Tip, you better store your key in a faraday cage like box if you normally keep it in your pocket.

I'm not sure how that helps with stealing cars.
It's one thing to boost the signal in order to unlock and start the car; but soon after you move the car further away from the key, the ignition will shut off since it can't find the key.
I assume they also managed to capture the signal and replicate it on a handheld device? Because that would be pretty neat.
It copies the key's signal and contiuesto transmit it once acquired no longer needing the reciver end. This will allow you to go anywhere with the car as long as the transmitter has the signal stored.

Doesn't matter how good is freshly released anti-theft protection sooner or later thefts will find the way to bypass it.
I remember some 15 years ago my uncle from Germany came here to visit his parents and stay for a week or two before going to summer vacation in Greece. He came with one of the latest models of Mercedes-AMG, that thing looked like a space ship to me, incredibly fast and fantastic looking car for sure with latest anti-thieft protection and whatnot, guess no one else in 100Km range had anything that could come close to this beast. He claimed no one on this world could steal that car, not a chance: "...this is German technology, best in the world, nothing can come close to this... I challenge anyone to attempt to steal this car...blah...blah..blah..." ...but every night before sleep he locked the gate of his parent's house, I loled on that
Epilogue: few mornings later after he woke up: front yard of that house was empty, car was nowhere to be found!!! And funny enough (for me at least, not for my uncle): gate was locked, what a caring thefts hahaha Next year he came with much "cheaper" Mercedes and never ever talked about car security.
