Home theater enthusiasts will appreciate LG HU915QE CineBeam short throw 4K UST projector.

LG has unveiled the CineBeam HU915QE, their latest ultra-short-throw laser projector. An impressive 0.19 throw ratio is among the changes, which allows the HU915QE to generate a 90in image when put only 5.6cm from the wall, or a massive 120in image when placed 18.3cm away.

In comparison, the company's current HU715Q requires roughly 22cm from the wall only to display a 100in image. LG has switched from a single light source to a three-channel laser, which should increase performance and image quality. Peak brightness is up to 3,700 ANSI lumens (up from 2,500 on the HY715Q), with a stated contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. The installation will still be more difficult than with a large-screen TV, but the benefits of upgrading from, say, a 65in screen to a 120in projector should not be ignored. In this case, the latter is 241% larger, and there's lots of modern display tech packed into the HU915QE's sleek design. Aside from a conventional 4K UHD resolution, the projector boasts a variety of streaming apps via its webOS smart platform, three HDMI connections with eARC, and a 2.2 channel 40W speaker system that can be linked with optional LG Bluetooth speakers for a surround arrangement.

The HU915QE is scheduled to be available in the first half of 2022, and it is already available for pre-order at US shops for $5,999.
