HIS released their Radeon R9 290 Fan graphics card. The "Fan" series from HIS is based of the reference design and specs wise is not different. This goes as well for the clock frequencies of 948 MHz core, and 5.00 GHz memory. The Radeon R9 290 features 2,560 stream processors, 160 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface with 4 GB of memory.
The Hawaii processor has a whopping 6.2 Billion transistors all fitted on a 438 mm2 Die size. At 28nm AMD applied the GCN architecture again, albeit you will learn that there have been a few tweaks at cache levels as the L2 cache is now 1MB for example. More on that later though.
