HeatKiller IV Processor block for AMD Threadripper

HeatKiller IV Processor block for AMD Threadripper

For their new Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, AMD developed a completely new socket. Being one of the largest sockets in consumer PC hardware and sporting one of the biggest CPUs, WaterCool decided to develop a new water block instead of tinkering their existing HeatKiller IV CPU block

The new HEATKILLER IV TR4-PRO from WaterCool comes with a cold plate of over 90 cm², more than covering the whole IHS of a Threadripper. There are four versions available:

  • PURE COPPER comes with the huge cold plate and a top milled out of one solid piece of copper. Experience yourself what the raw power of 1Kg of copper can cool!
  • COPPER NICKEL comes with the same features as PURE COPPER, but completely nickel plated for corrosion protection and style.
  • Acryl Nickel black comes with a window to see the flow path. Additionally, the block comes with an RGB LED strip preinstalled that is compatible with all current X399 motherboards’ LED headers.
  • With Acryl Nickel Red,  we pay tribute to AMD’s brand color and their RedTeam+. Also comes with the preinstalled RGB LED strip.

Proper cooling for motherboard VRMs is becoming increasingly important with the current power-hungry enthusiast CPUs, both from Intel and AMD. So we decided to support two high-class motherboards with perfectly fitted MB-X waterblocks: The ASUS RAMPAGE VI APEX for Intel X299 systems, and the ASUS ZENITH EXTREME for AMD X399 Threadripper systems. Both boards are very overclocking friendly, host extremely potent and demanding CPUs, and benefit greatly from a superior cooling solution. We will have copper/Acryl, Nickel/Acryl an Nickel/SmokyAcryl versions for both boards. The copper versions are already available, the nickel versions will be available beginning of January2018.

If you own a different board and want to watercool the vrms: we are currently designing a modular motherboard vrm water block system that shall be able to support virtually any modern motherboard. To check for compatibilities, we ask for your help: please provide pictures of your motherboards VRM to directly help and support our development team!
