Guru3D Android App available for download

We'll start off the year with a small present. I've just inserted the first Beta of the Guru3D app for Android on Google play. It has been a much requested feature. You can now check the daily news, article snippets, new downloads and our Youtube movies directly from the app. The app is suited for both Smartphones and Tablets (Tablets get extended functionality). More after the break.

Please do understand that the apps being released are a bit of a hobby slash side project and is a small extension towards Guru3D.com, so don't expect massively developped apps. But if you are on the road and like to check the latest news this app will be very handy. The application is very much in Beta stages as you'll notice from the looks and feel.

For those that like to give it a try the Android version is up and running on Google Play (just search on guru3d), you can send the app to your mobile phone from here as well. Soon we'll be supporting Apple and Windows mobile solutions as well.

still waiting for a better way to browse the forums on mobile, i am sure in your app you can import the forum database and using some html to make it look good

really? why does this app needs to know my phone calls????

read phone status and identity
Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

oh well...hating this permission overuse lately...

i mean, dont get me wrong, im loving guru3d and cant say bad..
But why? and is it really neccesary?
ive seen other forum apps, and they DONT wanna know my phone stuff, or other permissions besides internet access.

would be nice if someone could explain in depth why these permissions are needed...
