GTA V was sold 145 million times since launch

One of the most popular games on the globe has got to be GTAV, proper numbers on sales we've never seen though, however, in a recent financial conference call some baffling numbers have been shared.

Can you believe that it was  September 17, 2013 when the game got released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 followed by PC later on?. The title still is selling well.

I promised you some numbers, and the entire GTA series has now sold 345 million units, and GTA V alone covers 42 percent of the total franchise sales, that is 145 million units. Quarterly figures for the fourth quarter in 2021 show that both GTA V and GTA Online were good for a turnover of about 3.37 billion dollars (2.76 billion euros) and 589 million dollars (483 million euros) in profit.

In a recent SEC filing, Take-Two confirms that the GTA franchise generated 29.2 percent of its total revenue for the year, or $ 985 million ($ 808 million). In comparison, Call of Duty earned more than $ 3 billion ($ 2.46 billion) in revenue last year. GTA Online increased its revenues by $ 267.4 million ($ 219 million) during this period due to increased interest and newly added DLC. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014, but the Windows version was not released until April 14, 2015.

I never did like this game, even after I got it for free on EGS I uninstalled it after 2 hours... So I'm not one of those 145mil.

Just out of curiosity, is this the game with the most sales in history?

There is no wonder, it first came out on PS3/xobx360! Although it is really interesting that some people continue to buy it to this day, I guess due to online. But anyway, this here is the reason that there was no GTA6 yet.

Got it for free on Epic, tried to install some rockstar bullshit on my PC, so i didn't bother.

Not like GTA genre is any good anyways, last one i played was GTA3.
