Grab The first Splinter Cell game for free

Free games are always good, In order to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft is offering PC gamers seven digital games (from June to December) free of charge.

ast month, the French company offered Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and today the team has made the first part of the legendary Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise available for download.

Ah the good-old days when games were 2.36 Gb sigh! Thank you for pointing this out Downloading now.....

Ha. I remember people complaining and throwing a fit when games started being 2gb or so.
Same as the "ungodly" development of games hitting that 10gb size... ;)

I am wondering how its going to look cause its such an old game,I remember playing this on the original (xbox) when it 1st came out lol.

My favirot splinter cells where.
1) Splinter cell conviction
2) Splinter cell Blacklist

Anyone saying Blacklist wasnt a hit in the series is NOT a true fan sorry.

The first Splinter Cell still looks pretty good. Models are a bit blockier then now (of course), but with a little tweaking it works great and looks solid thinks to great lighting design.

BUT... if we're going to rank the series...

1. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
2. Splinter Cell
3. Splinter Cell: Conviction
4. Splinter Cell: Blacklist
5. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
6. Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Pandora Tomorrow is so far down simply because it's a pain in the ass to get a hold of now.
But, Chaos Theory is the best entry in the series. Everything about it is better then every other entry.

Conviction I really liked. I enjoyed the presentation, the story... and the "interrogation" scenes.
But, yeah, it was simplified from previous entries.

Blacklist is a damn good entry. A mix of elements from Conviction and earlier titles like Chaos Theory.
But, the recasting of voice actors, and the redesign to the faces of basically every character...
Just seemed really odd considering it's a direct sequel to the events of Conviction. Yet, Sam looks and sounds younger now.

And Double Agent... yeah... that just.
It's not a "bad" game, but it's got some issues. Both in story, gameplay... and from a technical standpoint.
