Gigabyte to offer Aorus FV43U, a 43inch 4K monitor with DisplayHDR 1000 and 144 Hz

Gigabyte to offer Aorus FV43U, a 43inch 4K monitor with DisplayHDR 1000 and 144 Hz

It's in Asia, actually Vietnam where Gigabyte unveiled a new 43.4-inch FV43U monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K ) and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. It is still unknown which panel technology will be used, but features such as DisplayHDR-1000 certification and 97 percent DCI-P3 are in sight.

Other features include a 10-bit color depth and 1 ms response time . The latter, however, is an MPRT specification ("Moving Picture Response Time") and says nothing about the more important gray-to-gray change. It is still uncertain which sync technology will be offered and which interfaces will be installed. In view of 4K at 144 Hz, HDMI 2.1 and / or DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC (“Display Stream Compression”) would certainly be an option.

While some Vietnamese online shops are already listing the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U as available and quoting the equivalent of around 1299 euros/USD as a sales price, nothing has been announced regarding availability plans in Europe or the USA.

What is this - IPS / VA? Freesync / Gsync?

As long as they can't mine on this, the price should stay more or less the same.

Depending on what is used for building these things, it might also be affected by chip shortages. But even if not, the base price will be huuuje on these.

Lots of missing info here but as there won't be a graphics card capable of 144 Hz (at 4K + RT + max PQ settings) for years & years (if you can buy a top perf card anyway), why would you buy this screen as against a 120Hz GSynch LG OLED? If the 42" LG screen, apparently due later this year, had been available last November when I bought my PG35VQ, that would have been a very tempting alternative.

Might be better to get LG CX or C1 if one is invested in large tv "pro" gaming.
