Gigabyte Teases GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

Gigabyte Teases GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

Now, we assume it is a 1070 as we have been taliing about that last week already. Gigabyte on its facebook posted a hint towards a new Ti model.

Industry sources claim all this, the product would get 2304 Shader cores which is a little hard to believe being so close to the 1080.  It could also be the opposite and a simple 1070 with faster memory, likely 9 Gbps GDDR5. Back to facebook, the FB post shows an image with an evil clown hinting to the movie IT.  Then there is a picture of a video card with the Gigabyte Aorus cooler, a wallet with money rising (one bill) with a balloon and the stylized letters "TI" opposed to "IT".

At the top of the teaser is the text "You'll float too." As a caption there is:

"Ti will get you too ... eventually ...
#comingsoon".

Possibly (even likely) the horror theme refers to an introduction date during Halloween which is Wednesday, 31 October.

I don't know why Nvidia bothered, it's such a small jump from the 1070...

...Maybe someone at Nvidia thought Vega 56 could possibly be in stock in a undefined future AND at MSRP then a 1070 Ti variant is not a bad idea in this specific scenario.

AdoredTV was right: Nvidia, milking you since 8800GTX.

Well good products usually come at a premium... especially amidst lackluster competition. So either be milked... or sit on the sidelines and cry because you cant find anything else that can match it... unless you wait a year or more for it.

Why wouldn't Nvidia do this? Right now, Nvidia is like a grown up playing chess with a toddler. AMD takes ages to make a move and then winds up bungling it anyway. Nvidia already has their next dozen moves planned while AMD is sticking a pawn up its nose.

Seems like a pretty basic response to the vega 56, which can make the 1070 look weak in some titles, shouldn't really surprise anyone. will be interesting to see if it benefits from vmem mod if its gddr5 based.
