Gigabyte Teases GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
Now, we assume it is a 1070 as we have been taliing about that last week already. Gigabyte on its facebook posted a hint towards a new Ti model.
Industry sources claim all this, the product would get 2304 Shader cores which is a little hard to believe being so close to the 1080. It could also be the opposite and a simple 1070 with faster memory, likely 9 Gbps GDDR5. Back to facebook, the FB post shows an image with an evil clown hinting to the movie IT. Then there is a picture of a video card with the Gigabyte Aorus cooler, a wallet with money rising (one bill) with a balloon and the stylized letters "TI" opposed to "IT".
At the top of the teaser is the text "You'll float too." As a caption there is:
"Ti will get you too ... eventually ...
#comingsoon".
Possibly (even likely) the horror theme refers to an introduction date during Halloween which is Wednesday, 31 October.

You're older than me (guessing) but you're the idiot here, not always Nvidia did this cut down bs.
And what the hell are you talking about?
They've done it for years.
Clearly you are lacking experience in the past decade of their product releases.
Even back till geforce 4, they released Ti models that were the 'best' only to have another ultra variant a few months later.
Secondly, with huge monolothic chips that we get, yields are never perfect.
The bigger the die, the less chance a chip will be perfect, hence you will ALWAYS get cutdown cards.
Vega64 is a clear *screwing* of AMDs customers. Charging a similar amount of a 1080Ti when it's better all around and 40% faster
The only thing you're able to do is b1tch and complain in every intel and nvidia thread, gets old having to read through crap.

If you want to believe Nvidia isn't doing it on purpose, nothing I can say will change that.
That's why I say the bigger route isn't going to prevail, either cost or yields will kill it.
There's more to a GPU than just gaming, Nvidia said many times their Titan was not for gaming. Vega has the compute power, I don't know why it "sucks" at gaming but no one is forcing me or anyone to buy one.
When you see my avatar, skip my post: easy. Take care.

Whether or not Nvidia is milking anything, the 1070Ti is still a stupid product, whose sole purpose is just to make sure they have something faster than the Vega56 at a similar price point. This has nothing to do with whether or not Vega is a good product, good value, etc. I am sure without even seeing benchmarks that a 1070Ti will be the better product. Still doesn't change the fact it's a dumb product that doesn't need to exist. Who is the target demographic? A regular 1070 is perfectly fine for 2K@60Hz, but not much more. A 1080 is sufficient for 2K@90Hz (so, VR for example). What's a 1070Ti going to do other than give Nvidia the opportunity bragging rights over having the faster product in that performance tier?
Anyway, the ad is funny.

haha so riot83, Agent-A01, haven't you discovered the ignore function on this board yet? It's even better than with the last board's iteration because now you don't even see the bar between the posts notifying you that there was a post of somebody that you ignore

I don't think that this release is a silly product launch, if people don't want it they won't buy it anyway. Customers should use their brains whatever the manufacturer's of GPUs and cards do, no way around it... it may be interesting for people not having done the jump eventually, maybe NV's plan is to cater to the people who are fed up with waiting for Vega 56 or the custom cards?

I never understood this, how is this milking?
They don't release the full GPU because there's no need to. Because enthusiasts will buy all top gpu's no mater what, it's good for them to slice the parts and release the same tech over and over again. Like they've been doing with Ti's and Titans.
Had AMD done this Silva would praise them and claim they are doing it for the gamers.
All my gaming life I've been using Nvidia: Geforce 5200/6600/7600/9800GTX/460SE Just recently I switched to AMD with the R9 270X and RX560. As for CPU's I never owned AMD, but next year I probably will. So I don't see your point.
He's always bitching about nVidia and Intel. No matter what they do.
Maybe because there's something wrong with them, I used to buy a computer every 3 years and the performance would go up considerably. I'm still with my 2500k and just now I see something worth upgrading to. As for GPU's, the price keeps skyrocketing: the minimum wage here is below 600€ and the 1080 costs around 650€ or more. Want a 1080Ti? +800€. Back in the day, I paid around 300€ for my 9800GTX, that was 324mm2.
He's a total idiot.
The last thread he was saying NV is screwing customers by not releasing the full card. Yet doesn't have the cognitive ability to understand yields are never perfect hence you will always get cut down cards.
He must also really think AMD is bending over their customers and screwing them because you pay more for less.
You're older than me (guessing) but you're the idiot here, not always Nvidia did this cut down bs.
