Gigabyte Teases GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

Gigabyte Teases GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

Now, we assume it is a 1070 as we have been taliing about that last week already. Gigabyte on its facebook posted a hint towards a new Ti model.

Industry sources claim all this, the product would get 2304 Shader cores which is a little hard to believe being so close to the 1080.  It could also be the opposite and a simple 1070 with faster memory, likely 9 Gbps GDDR5. Back to facebook, the FB post shows an image with an evil clown hinting to the movie IT.  Then there is a picture of a video card with the Gigabyte Aorus cooler, a wallet with money rising (one bill) with a balloon and the stylized letters "TI" opposed to "IT".

At the top of the teaser is the text "You'll float too." As a caption there is:

"Ti will get you too ... eventually ...
#comingsoon".

Possibly (even likely) the horror theme refers to an introduction date during Halloween which is Wednesday, 31 October.

What they should do is EOL the 1080 then reduce the price on the 1080Ti to $550

Just having the 1070Ti & the 1080Ti at the high & very high end would make most sense from a marketing perspective.

Why should they lower the price on the 1080Ti? I can't really see any sense in that without any competition or follow up...

AdoredTV was right: Nvidia, milking you since 8800GTX.

I never understood this, how is this milking?

Milking:
Exploit or defraud (someone), typically by taking regular small amounts of money over a period of time.

How is Nvidia doing this by launching a new tier of product? Who is being exploited or defrauded? As far as I know no one is being forced to buy this product and pricing wise it's going to fall between the 1080/1070, same with performance - so what makes it bad for customers? Why is more choices slotted in the respective price/performance tiers a bad thing?

Nvidia=Evil

Had AMD done this Silva would praise them and claim they are doing it for the gamers.

On a serous note. If this is just a 1070 with GDDR5X then that would be good as miners would stay away.

He's a total idiot.
The last thread he was saying NV is screwing customers by not releasing the full card. Yet doesn't have the cognitive ability to understand yields are never perfect hence you will always get cut down cards.

He must also really think AMD is bending over their customers and screwing them because you pay more for less.
