Gigabyte Starts Distributing New Ryzen 5000 Firmware Updates for B550 and X570

Gigabyte Starts Distributing New Ryzen 5000 Firmware Updates for B550 and X570

GIGABYTE has started to provide BIOS for AMD's next-generation CPU Ryzen 5000 series for motherboards equipped with AMD 500 series chipset.

The supported BIOS versions are "F31" for the X570 chipset , "F11 " for the B550 chipset, and "F11" for the A520 chipset , and the "Q-Flash Plus" function that allows you to update the BIOS even without a CPU installed.

GIGABYTE is also verifying the BIOS for the "Ryzen 5000" series for motherboards equipped with AMD X470 and AMD B450 chipsets. It will be released as soon as it is ready.

GIGABYTE has released bootable BIOS in September to support Ryzen 5000 series processors. However, our RD team worked closely with AMD to validate the latest AMD BIOS AGESA code in parallel with the belief of providing users with a better product experience. Also, prior to the official launch of the RyzenTM 5000 series processors, we work hard on the BIOS to optimize the Zen3 core’s performance and upload it to our websites available for download. This allows users to firsthand experience the compatibility and reliability improvements made possible from motherboards equipped with RyzenTM 5000 series processors when they get a hold of their processors while enjoying the advantages of the new processors on gaming experience, performance, and overclocking ability.

Users can update their motherboards’ BIOS by their familiar methods, such as @BIOS or Q-Flash. They can even utilize the Q-Flash Plus feature to update the BIOS without installing any processor, memory or even graphics card, making it possible for users to enjoy the benefits brought about by the new BIOS core and processors.

The latest BIOS for the AMD X570, B550, and A520 motherboards is available now on our websites. Users can visit the product websites to download and upgrade their systems to keep them in the best condition possible. At the same time, we are working on the BIOS for AMD X470 and B450 motherboards to support RyzenTM 5000 series processors and will release them as soon as possible. Remember to check out GIGABYTE’s website for the latest news.

Same it's F35 for those of us with the Aorus Master X570. I'm still on F33i which came with my Rev 1.2 board and that's 1.2.0.1A. Since i have no issues with F33i i don't feel that pressed into updating just yet. I'll probably just wait and see what 1.2.0.6+ fixes or not.

My only worry is that message from Gigabyte about "Major vulnerabilities" but i didn't find how the bios can be exploited, is it remote attack or is it just local threats? I mean this is a report made by SentinelOne so i guess it's a legit issue that should be addressed.

No post after update to F36e beta (1.2.0.4a) and final F36 (1.2.0.5).
Very bad bios.
Back to F35 (1.2.0.3b)

x570 Aorus Elite + 3900x
f36e and f36 final are trash for me. I may downgrade to F35.

GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS - TweakTown Forums

Update:

Latest beta bios F15a has add this Max CPU clock boost override option.

And for VDDG Voltage it can be set manual and do the setting.

Bios F15a.

Looks like Gigabyte is testing a new bios for the B550's this one in the post was for the Aorus Pro and they are overriding AMD's restriction and limitations from the prior AGESA builds.
This is also on 1.2.0.6 (B) which is rumored to be for the 5800XD CPU when that launches.

Might not be too long until other boards have bios updates then with similar features.

EDIT: Yep provided directly thus why it's posted on Media Fire there and not yet up on their own download server.

F35 has been the best BIOS for me, unless there are some security issues or massive improvements, I may ride it out on this one.

(Not working.)

Maybe i can try it once they are stable , what i'm looking for is , PBO boost with +300-350 range,
VDDG 1.05-1.15v for 1800-1900 FCLK.

I'm not hoping for 2000 FCLK as i get alot of WHEA with PBO enabled , i don't think it can be fixed with bios , it's memory controller limitation , not mobo limitation ?

i spent a lot of time tweaking on last bioses just to go back to older bios ( F13 right now)- and provided feedback . I Hope someone else can test it and i can just jump on it after :D
