Gigabyte GC-AQC113C 10G uses new chip from - Marvell 10 Gigabit LAN card "VISION 10G LAN"

Gigabyte GC-AQC113C 10G uses new chip from - Marvell 10 Gigabit LAN card

A  network expansion card "VISION 10G LAN Card" compatible with 10 Gigabit LAN has been released from the "VISION" series for makers. The model includes a white heat sink cover that matches the rest of the series, and the bus interface is PCI-Express 3.0 compliant (x4).

A card can add 1 x 10 Gigabit LAN port (RJ45) to the system, the network controller is based on a Marvell AQtion "AQC113C". The cable supports CAT6A / CAT7 cables up to 100m. The transmission speed is 10Gbps / 5Gbps / 2.5Gbps / 1Gbps / 100Mbps / 10Mbps, and the supported OS is Windows 10 (64bit). The product comes with full height and low profile brackets.

The Gigabyte Vision 10G LAN Card is fully backward compatible via the IEEE 802.3bz standard and works in a network with lower transmission rates of 5, 2.5 and 1 Gigabit/s. Compatibility is even required with the even older standards with 100 and 10 Mbit/s. However, in order to be able to fully exploit the full performance potential in the 10 GbE network, the network must be implemented using cables of the CAT6a or CAT7 standard. A CAT5e cable at the RJ45 port is sufficient for 5 Gigabit/s, provided a length of 30 m is not exceeded. Otherwise, a CAT6 should be chosen.

Gigabyte did not mention any pricing.

I'm so glad 10GbE is finally becoming available for home use! Gigabit has been around for far too long and with the SSD being normal in systems for some time and gigabit fibre Internet also becoming a standard, it's about time we got faster LAN speeds. And to all those people who say "you don't need faster than gigabit at home", you have no idea what I do on my LAN or how expensive my time is. Personally, I can't wait to actually be able to move large files around quickly!

always has, but no use if using old hdd. youd need thunderbolt to make decent use of it really.

I generally use it at home for switch uplinks so saturation doesnt occur.

X570 + Intel X550-T1 gave me the best results fyi
Z390 + AQC107 seemed to be bottlenecked I think by the chipset i/o or something as I tried the X550-T1 on it and had the same 3Gbit-ish speed limit
