Gigabyte mobo sales did well in 2013

Gigabyte Technology shipped 17.5 million motherboards in January-October 2013 and will ship two million units in November, and thus is expected to ship 21 million units in 2013, a 28-year highest annual level and growing 10.5% on year, according to market watchers, adding that Gigabyte is expected to reach 2013 net EPS of NT$3.60 (US$0.12) which is its highest since 2004.



Currently, Gigabyte has almost no motherboard OEM business and is mainly pushing its brand products. The motherboard vendor shipped 19 million units in 2012.

The company is also expected to catch up with its main competitor Asustek Computer, the market watchers noted.

Asustek shipped 15.5 million motherboards in the first three quarters of 2013 and is expected to ship 5.3 million units in the fourth quarter. Asustek shipped 22 million motherboards in 2012.
