Gigabyte Eagle series RTX 4080 Shows Up in leaked photos
The EAGLE series will be Gigabyte's fourth triple-fan design, following the WindForce, Gaming, and AORUS series. The new design is significantly larger than the predecessor (3080 series).
The card now has 3.5 slots and the same 110mm fan design as the RTX 4090 Gaming OC cards. Gigabyte will, however, use the same cooler for the 4090 and 4080 Eagle series. The card has a single 16-pin power connector as well as the standard display output configuration of 3x DP 1.4a + 1x HDMI 2.1. It should be noted that the 3080 Eagle series had an extra DisplayPort, but this is no longer the case for any Gigabyte RTX 40 model. The Gigabyte RTX 4080 EAGLE will be factory-overclocked, but the exact clocks have yet to be confirmed. The AD103 GPU has 9728 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory in this model. Due to NVIDIA's cancellation of this SKU, there will be no 12GB variant.
NVIDIA plans to release the RTX 4080 on November 16th for $1,199. The RTX 4080 Eagle non-OC is very likely to launch at MSRP because it is one of the lowest tiers in the Gigabyte lineup.

Nice, so we went from MSRP 700 USD (3080 10gb) or 800 USD (3080 12gb) straight to 1200 USD for xx80 tier card. Thats brutal?!
Glad I scored 3080 10gb for the price I used to pay for 970 2nd hand back in the days. Ppl went really nuts when the 40xx was announced plus ETH mining cancelled. I knew this 40xx series will be totally out of the reach for me, and I was right.
Honestly, I hope this fires up on em (eh..)
1st they completely abandoned gamers TWICE when they had a chance, now this. Guys, you fed the beast up with your cash properly! Now its just out of the leash.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy from this overpriced series.
The original Titan at $1000 seemed like an extremely bad deal, since the 780 Ti was very close to it in performance and only $699, and now $1200-$2000 cards are the new normal ? F. that, I'm not playing that game.
I really hope Ada series crash and burn hard (figuratively speaking, as literally they are already burning :rolleyes

Nvidia really needs to learn a lesson, this madness has gone long enough.

Oh, you mean the perfectly fine connector that has nothing to do with the adapters burning? Interesting.
Sorry bud you don't need a new PSU, sorry you're in that state of mind of complaining without seeing what you're saying.
Sure, if you don't want an adapter, or don't want to get new cables for your existing PSU, which also isn't required, then sure you "need" a new PSU, but that's all on you, no one is forcing you to get a new PSU and you can run any of these cards just fine without it.
The only, only issue currently is nvidias adapter quality, that is it.
I'm not sure why this isn't more common, heck a right angle power that directs the cable toward the back of your PCB at the end of the GPU would also be nice, cables go directly towards the back of the PCB and doesn't impede airflow.

Like that, but end of the PCB/GPU, not the back

Basically there, but turned 90 degrees and pushed out.

It uses less power than 4090 maybe there will be less chance to burst in flames.
