Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Graphics Cards with 11 Gbps GDDR5X Memory
We just talked about the GTX 1060 with faster memory, a 1080 model is present with 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory as well, actually two of them and both from the Aorus series.
Both SKUS this have 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory opposed to 10 Gbps memory. The Aorus cards have been fitted with Gigabytes newest iteration of the WindForce 3X triple-fan cooler, 2.5-slot thick solution. These have three 100 mm fans, and a number of RGB LED lighting features that can be controlled with RGB Fusion software. Aorus is offering a 4-year warranty with these cards.
The more standard GV-N1080AORUS-8GD gets clock speeds of 1708 MHz on the GPU base frequency, 1847 MHz on the boost Boost, and 11.00 GHz (GDDR5X-effective) memory. The second SKU is the Xtreme Edition tagged under product code (GV-N1080AORUS X11-8GD). This model comes with a 1759 MHz core, 1898 MHz GPU Boost, thus that 11.00 GHz memory.

I wonder if these are just 1080 Ti Boards/chips that failed and are lasercut into "normal" 1080's.. could be interesting to check out sometime ^^
