Gigabyte adds GTX 1050 and Ti OC Low Profile Graphics cards

Gigabyte adds GTX 1050 and Ti OC Low Profile Graphics cards

Small form factor and HTPC lovers take note, Gigabyte might have a nice and cheap solution for your HTPC, in low profile as they release the GeForce  GTX 1050 and Ti OC models in a Low Profile version.

Both cards come factory tweaked (a bit) and this are low profile. The cards have very tiny fans (1 each) with your standard aluminum heatink cooling the graphics card. The cards both might be low-profile at 167mm, they however remain dual-slot. Both models get two HDMI, one DisplayPort and one DVI connector.

1050:

  • Boost: 1506 MHz/ Base: 1392 MHz in OC Mode
  • Boost: 1468 MHz/ Base: 1366 MHz in Gaming Mode

1050 Ti:

  • Boost: 1442 MHz/ Base: 1328 MHz in OC Mode
  • Boost: 1417 MHz/ Base: 1303 MHz in Gaming Mode

The OC mode requires Gigabyte overlock software (XTREME engine utility) to be applied and active at all times, hence the gaming mode is your true clock frequency at defaults. Thanks SH SOTN for the new tip.

A new low profile GPU in the medium to low performance range and still no single slot option.

:3eyes:

I think there is a market for low profile AND single slot GPU for HTPC mini-ITX PCs, some ppl needs to use the second slot covered by the GPU fan.

The only options right now are very old and weak GPUs. :bang:

XFX came out with a RX 460 single slot.

Think I saw someone making a GTX 1080 single slot. Dont know how well that would work out.

If you install a water block the card essentially becomes a single slots width. I took my 1080 FTW Hybrid, and put a EKWB water block on. The GPU is significantly thinner therefore it is possible to do at a price of course.

Except the I/O bracket is not a single slot.

And most people are not gonna put a water block on a budget gpu for single slot in the first place. Most are wanting a the smallest form factor possible with single slot gpus. Especially low profile single slot.
