GIGABYTE Adds GeForce GTX 960 4GB Xtreme Graphics Card with RGB Lighting

Okay, admittedly the RGB trend is getting a little over-hyped. Gigabyte inserted a new SKU into the GeForce GTX 960 lineup, the Xtreme Gaming edition with 4 GB a proper cooler and of course, RGB custmizable lighting.

The card WindForce 2X cooling fans (90mm) and top logo have the RGB lights. Other then that this is your regular Xtreme model with a proper factory-overclock at 1304 MHz core and 1367 MHz GPU Boost (reference 1127 MHz core / 1178 MHz GPU Boost). The memory runs reference at 7010 MHz.

  • Boost: 1367 MHz/ Base: 1304 MHz in OC Mode
  • Boost: 1342 MHz/ Base: 1279 MHz in Gaming Mode

The Xtreme comes with a nice design back-plate as well. It has three DP connectors, one HDMI and a DVI connector as well.

Its hard selling something that should have been legitimately refreshed by a Ti addition. January 22, 2015 release date, what ? :puke2:

I have a theory that they wont make Lower end Ti additions, to force flawed gtx 970s' down peoples neck .

I prefer the G1 Gaming triple fan design instead of this Xtreme series.

I have a feeling that 128 bit videocards will be popular still for some time due to the GDDR5X increased bandwidth. ;)

Nvidia needed a 960ti. These 960 are not competitive.
