Giga Computing Technology Unveils Powerful Workstation Motherboards with Intel W790 Chipset

Giga Computing Technology, a subsidiary of GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY based in Taiwan, unveiled two new motherboards, namely the "MW83-RP0" and "MW53-HP0," specifically designed for workstations that come equipped with the Intel W790 chipset.

These motherboards are LGA 4677 type and support the Intel Xeon W-3400/W-2400 (known as "Sapphire Rapids"). They are suitable for complex 3D CAD, AI development, simulation, and 3D rendering. The "MW83-RP0" is a CEB form factor motherboard that can house the Intel Xeon W-3400 with up to 56 cores and up to 112 PCI Express lanes. It also features DDR5 RDIMM x 8 memory slots, which can support up to 4TB of memory, and PCI Express 5.0 (x16) x 5 and PCI Express 4.0 (x16) x 2 expansion slots. The storage is equipped with PCI Express 4.0 (x4) compatible M.2 slot x 2 and SlimSAS x 2 (SATA x 8). For network connectivity, it offers two 10 gigabit LANs powered by Intel X710-AT2 and one gigabit LAN for management by Realtek RTL8211FD.

The "MW53-HP0," on the other hand, is an ATX form factor motherboard that can accommodate the Intel Xeon W-2400 with up to 24 cores and up to 64 PCI Express lanes. It has DDR5 RDIMM x 8 memory slots, which can support up to 4TB of memory, and PCI Express 5.0 (x16) x 4 and PCI Express 3.0 (x16) x 1 expansion slots. The storage features PCI Express 4.0 (x4) compatible M.2 slot x 3 and SATA 3.0 x 8. It also provides two 2.5 gigabit LANs powered by Intel i226LM and one gigabit LAN for management by Realtek RTL8211FD.

Why aren't motherboard layouts like this (without being BTX) more common? Seems to be so much more sensible.
