GeForce RTX 3050 would get 2304 stream processors

GeForce RTX 3050 would get 2304 stream processors

With all the talk about 3090, 3080, 3070, 3060, and possible Ti models, let's not forget the cheapest model GeForce RTX 3050 is pending as well.

According to spec leaker Kopite, the RTX 3050 would be based on the GA107-300 GPU and would come equipped with 2304 CUDA cores. It is also said that this model would have a 90 W TGP, which requires a 6-pin power connector. Although it is unknown how much memory the new graphics card will be equipped with, it is speculated with at least 4 GB since using a smaller amount today would be insufficient for almost any game.

It's called RTX, which means it is the first xx50 series GPU that receives Tensor Cores and RT Cores. In addition to being the first in its range to integrate Ray Tracing, what stands out here is that this card will have support to run the very beneficial NVIDIA DLSS technology, which will allow you to access higher resolutions such as 1440p or use Ray Tracing in 1080p. Unfortunately, we don't know when NVIDIA plans to release this model for sale.

Honestly, with this much SPs it needs to have at least 6GB VRAM to make sense. Other than that, with as much SPs as the RTX 2070, it should be a very good little GPU.

Agree, with the right pricing this could be the best selling nVidia GPU (provided that there's enough supply).

It is Ampere. Their SP to actual gaming performance is different than Turing. 2304 Ampere's SPs would be somewhere around 1536 Turing SPs. (And that would be around 1660Ti => Unsuitable for 1440p gaming.)

What a bummer :(. 1650 is so great because it can be installed to systems with no extra power connectors. I hope there will be a low power version from 3rd party companies. 90 is very close to 75...
