GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Availability Delayed by a week

On the NVIDIA forums, a moderator is reporting that the general availability GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is delayed with one week. This means that if you want to purchase the card it will not be available at its official release on the 20th. 

The cards should be available on September 27th. Pre-orders would be shipped out between September 20 and 27, according to Nvidia. The general availability of the RTX 2080 remains 20 September. We assume news effects Founder edition cards only. As to the status of the AIBs availability, we can only guess.

True they look very good but they use certain "tricks" to achieve that kind of results like a fixed frame rate, lower resolutions, fewer enemies/NPCs on screen and so on...

As for GT Sport is no surprise for having amazing graphics because it there´s one thing that PD masters is the graphical department. I'm not at all a resolution purist, hence why I like stuff like DLSS. The truth of the matter is that there is a short of fetishism for pure resolutions, while we could be learning more from the consoles. See God of War or Spiderman or Gt sport on an hdr TV, and then tell me we're not doing it wrong. I cannot even imagine what a 8700k / 1080Ti could do, if used so effectively, with all the "tricks". Alas...

Let's be real, Pascal has pretty much dominated the market since it's arrived. On top of that, people who bought the RX 480 and 580 were a big hand full, as well as people still using older Maxwell and GCN cards. Reason being at this point to play games really we don't need to upgrade to something new to play games, and most people see that. The performance levels games give with current GPU's that are around the 3-4 year mark even has not really increased too much. So people are buying less GPU's, so gotta make up money somehow by charging high prices for em now.

I think nVidia is killing game market. And in unexpected way because nobody is really forced or allow himself to be forced to buy 2080Ti if it was out of his target price range.
And that's it, "Price Range".

Even few years back, GPU refresh brought some improvement to performance at old price. That means gamer with $400 for GPU saved on given year bought GPU and had upgrade.
Secondly, this gradual improvement at same price touched even low-end cards. Game developers could bet on that gradual improvement in performance.

And so, there was reasonably small performance target group on PC. Yes, people can have few generations old entry level GPU which would not perform well even on lowest game settings. But that would be considered obsolete hardware.

And so, games could be targeted above top cards and maximum details targeted at unreleased products. Pushing boundaries of what is possible. Optimizations mainly for those cards in middle of the range, to ensure happy gamers and good reviews.
In terms of price:
- Old model: Playable on new $150+ card;
Optimized to be great on $250~400 card;
Maximizing at $550~700 card (Where main mass of gamers sits on
Blue Range
.)
- New model now: Playable on new $150+ card;
Sub-optimal performance $250~400 card;
Optimized at $600+ card; Maximizing visuals at $1000+ card (While sadly main mass of gamers will remain on same
Blue Range
.)

Why, because lower range will be covered by cards not able to do DLSS and other performance improving things (even if it costs you a bit of IQ). Because when RTX 2070 gains 40% higher fps from DLSS in comparison to similarly looking MSAA, that 40% of gain will be used to show more on screen (further putting older generation into bigger disadvantage).

Yes, optimal gaming performance for game which uses any of those new RTX features is gained from RTX 2070 and higher which translates to $600+. And gains from DLSS, lower precision shaders, ... that's not something developers will ignore. Saving 25~35% of GPU rendering time with lower precision shaders where applicable will result in better (read heavier) shaders where one can really enjoy it.
But what will that do to older generation? Spending budget they did not save for in 1st place.
