GeForce GTX 1180 going Dual-fans and would be available in September
Over in Asia, some bold new claims have been made, two actually. The first one would be that that new GeForce 1180 / 2080 would need more colling, the reference design aka founders editions would be fitted with two fans.
That tidbit was mentioned by benchlife. Looking at the PCB though, the design seems extremely similar to previous designs, so how valid that remark is, I don't know. It's possible sure, but then again anything is possible right? We do know that NVIDIA has been using single fan blowers for years now and we (the media) have been giving them heat about it as the reference designs are a tad on the noisy side under high load. So moving towards two fans, well logic isn't forbidding that thought.
Transgooglified from from benchlife:
GeForce GTX 1180/2080 in September
There's a second series of remarks, this one originating from GALAX. Again one that doesn't defy any odds. We all know that NVIDIA is going to make an announcement late August at Gamescom. So logic assume availability in September right? Well, a GALAX representative answered few questions regarding new GeForce series. While tight-lipped they did actually talk about its existence. GALAX mentioned that the new cards will be available in September. The GeForce 1180/2080 would be a breakthrough in performance and support NVIDIA ray tracing technology. Which sounds very Volta'ish eh? Galax confirmed it would be releasing HOF and GAMER series.
Here’s what was said (Transgooglified)
A: The release time of the next-generation NVIDIA graphics card will not be far away. Players will be able to see the information about the new graphics card in September. The performance will certainly have a breakthrough growth, and will support the most advanced NVIDIA ray tracing technology. Game player is a good news!
Of course, GALAXY’s non-public version of the design is also in the process of planning, the next generation of new graphics will still follow the Hall of Fame, GAMER, the many advantages of the series, and innovate in the shape and heat, giving players a better game Experience and visual enjoyment, in order to enrich the needs of players, we plan to create a new series in the graphics card, specifically what shape and positioning, first give everyone a suspense, but I can guarantee that will not disappoint everyone!

I find this 2 blower thing hard to believe. 1080 Ti is fine with blower and its 250w, and i dont see 2080/1180 being greater than that. Ti maybe.

Cross fingers this new vgas don't go up in price. Dual fan solution seems like a good idea for a FE.

If dual fans, it may indicate a horribly hot, power hungry card. Would be a first for an Nvidia ref card.

It does sound like a crazy hot GPU. I'll save my money this time if this is true. Already had 2 GPU's fail due to heat. Not going to name brands.
