In-house: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Photos

In-house: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Photos

Last week Nvidia announced the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, later this week the review embargo will be lifted. But today we are allowed to show you a few photos.

We have received the product and are well under way with our benchmarks. So consider this a bit of an unboxing photo session.

the new high-end GTX 1080 Ti features 3584 CUDA Cores, 224 Texture Units, a 352-bit memory controller and 11 GB of GDDR5X memory. The card should be faster than a reference Titan X and 30% faster compared to a GTX 1080. The card has the same "GP102" GPU as the TITAN X Pascal, the GTX 1080 Ti but was slightly cut-down. Interesting is the 352-bit with GDDR5X memory interface, this was not expected. This translates to 11 memory chips on the card which run at 11 GHz (GDDR5X-effective), the memory bandwidth is 484 GB/s. Thiis means the ROP count is would be 88 (from 96 on the TITAN X Pascal), and the TMU count 224.The Ti will boost up to 1600 MHz, but the overclocking potential is much like all GeForce Pascal cards in the 2 GHz range. The GTX 1080 Ti has 8-pin and 6-pin power connectors.

The card does not have a DVI output, but a DisplayPort to DVI converter is included with this Founders Edition as bundle.

Have a peek at the photos, click on the thumbnails to enlarge.

This is such a tease! But even then, these numbers will be conservative compared with the retail OC packages. So if these are as good as we hope, and expect, they're still not as good as the end retail product will be.

A bit crazy idea but DVI connector might have been removed to improve cooling performance on FE cards. Just have a look at 1080FEs. DVI connector blocks 1/3+ of air flow.

I always wondered about that, i have two old GTX 570's that have the whole vent open with no DVI port blocking it (as the two DVI ports are on the bottom), i was going to test them with half the vent covered to see if it made a big difference to temps/noise levels but... i seem to have lent my GTX 570's to someone and i cant remember who... so never got around to testing it.

People have stated on these forums in the past that the blower style setups shouldn't be effected much by the blockage, but they have never offered proof or tests to show this.

I'm planning on getting a FE 1080Ti with my new build, so I'm gonna run that test to see if its true or not.
