The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 pretty much got noticed by everybody. Some are finer with the bugs and performance, others are left incredibly agitated. Yesterday CD Projekt issued a statement apologizing and showing its plans for the game in 2021.

Marcin Iwinski, the co-founder of CD Projekt, explained in a short 5-minute video that the main culprit behind the chaotic launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was having to work from home, something that made it very difficult to improve the version for consoles previous generation. Basically, they are blaming COVID-19. I mean, roughly 9 years of development time has been utilized for Cyberpunk 2077.

It's indicated that they had never imagined being in this mess and that it was unlikely that something similar would happen. That said, he assured that they are doing everything possible to correct their mistake and fix the game.

According to a roadmap, none of the plans have changed, and it is that patches 1.1 and 1.2 remain in mind for the next few weeks, in order to be able to launch the first free DLCs shortly after and, in the last stage of the year, bring the next generation version for the new consoles. The latter will be done along with new patches that will arrive in the coming months.
