KFA2 GeForce GTX970 customized edition for Caseking Group
KFA2 has partnerd up with the team behing OCUK to release a whisper-quiet GeForce GTX 970. Together Caseking’s British subsidiary Overclockers UK utilised their vast insider know-how to develop the sensational GTX 970 EXOC I Black Edition in an collaboration with the manufacturer.

Yes it does. Maybe not for you, but if i can have better components/layout than the stock pcb for similar price, then i dont care about reference design...
At least for someone buying an OCed card/wants to oc the card.
Power is normally cleaner/more stable (custom pcb), but also costs more.
Using the pcb from the next bigger model/another (custom) pcb already "designed", might be cheaper than having to make one from "scratch"..
