Gabe Newell Says Xbox Series X is Better Than PS5
Co-founder of Valve Gabe Newell is stuck in New Zealand (not a bad place to be stuck tbh) due to a Corona quarantine. And that gave him some time for interviews. While doing so he gave made his opinion on the upcoming next-gen console launch known. Appearing on the television program The Project, Newell was asked by one of the hosts which he thinks is better between the Xbox Series X and PS5.
“Uh, the Xbox,” Newell responded plainly. When pressed on why he thought it was a better platform, Newell simply said, “Because it is.” After some laughs were had by the audience, Newell expanded a bit more with, “I don’t have a stake in that race. Obviously, we do most of our development on personal computers. But of the two, I would definitely go with an Xbox.”
Obviously he'll say whatever suits his wallet the best.

So about that earlier joke on Bloodborne and it's rumored PC port and Sony and Epic Games Store exclusivity...
Well not like it'll change anything before that gets dragged into something more than odd humorous remarks, just one mans opinion though I'll have to see the interview and if they go into details or if it's just personal preference or something like that.
Input alone seems to be quite divisive between the X controller and the Dual Shocker before getting into the actual hardware like this mythical SSD thingie or the actual games and the usual about who or what has the better visuals ha ha.

HW wise he is probably right, although if I were to buy a new console it would probably be PS5. Simply because I already have a pretty decent PC and Xbox doesn't offer me anything beyond that, while PS will have some additional exclusives.

Of course, he will say this - Xbox and PC friendly strategy of Microsoft, as of late, is highly beneficial to him (Steam).
Nevertheless - all of this "potential" and "hardware is better" talk is garbage up until we see the final products in action.
Everyone remembers how PS3, with their super-duper multi-processor features, turned out to be in the end.
I'm more includes going with Sony product for down-the-road, as Xbox (at this point) is pretty much a budget PC (unless they will start introducing some exclusives once again).
Time will tell.
