G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 Memory LED Video

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/10/2017 06:34 PM | source: | 8 comment(s)

Yesterday we've received a new G.Skill memory kit, this is the all new RGB LED enabled TridentZ kit. This particular DDR4 memory kit is 3600 MHz (Cl16) in a 4x8GB configuration. It is a slow news day and I decided to post a quick video as many of you have indicated to maybe purchase a kit. And since these kits are becoming available as we speak I figured an in-house video on them would be nice. I have to say, the video hardly does the kit any justice, the LEDs look amazing, bright and very responsive. You can control the LED system without connecting any cables, ASUS Aura sync 'should' become compatible and G.Skill themselves will release a software app to control LED colors, lighting and animation effects to you can fine-tune the RGB LEDs to your preference. Honestly I know there is a lot of hesitation on everything RGB these days, but for some products it just really works, and I feel the new TridentZ RGB kits could be a hit. In this first video I'll just show the rainbow RGB effect, in multiple videos inside the actual review I will add more examples. If interested, have a peek.

Great video!

Is there any news on a 4GB variant being released? the non-RGB Trident Z has a 4GB variant, but these RGB ones seem to start at 8GB.

Need to know because I think I'll go full lunatic at my next build and I'm thinking about getting 8 x 4GB of these things. 8 x 8GB would be total overkill though, both for my system and my wallet.

Also I'm really curious how these stack up against the Corsair Vengeance RGB sticks.

Dat Base ! ... :D , the windows and doors of my house were actually trembling with that song Hilbert , my Subwoofer was going nuts , i like this video very much yes sir , nicely done , shot at 4K. Good light show for the ones into RGB and Led lights , there you have that option now with G.Skill FTW !

Currently only 8GB DIMMs as far as I know. It's a rather exclusive series and the first in RGB style. Since they are targeting a rather enthusiast crowd I do not expect 4 GB DIMMs to be honest as they prolly would get too expensive. They offer 16/32/64 GB kits in varying models based on 8GB DIMMs.
