G-Dock ev Thunderbolt 2000GB JP 2-Bay Removable External HDD Enclosure

Check out this new 2-bay removable external HDD enclosure ‘G-Dock ev Thunderbolt 2000GB JP’ from G-Technology on their product page. This aluminum enclosure has 2x Thunderbolt ports, RAID (0,1) and JBOD support, a cooling fan and is equipped with 2x HGST made 2.5-inch 1TB HDDs. The product will ship this month for a whopping cool $837. And still people wonder why USB 3.0 is more popular eh ?

It is a removable dock to meet the needs of digital content production in the studio and the go "Evolution Series". Is provided with two dedicated drive bays with hot-swap, can be docked up to two storage of G-DRIVE ev series. It is a product that can enhance the convenience of data management. The standard equipment boasts a transfer rate of up to 136MB / s, 2.5-inch HDD 1TB × 2 of 7200rpm. Starting with JBOD factory-set, it supports RAID 0/1.

One really good thing about nV android devices is that you can always get it to recover no matter how badly you screw up partitions/software.

If I were to shop for Shield I would care about: "SHIELD Open Source and Binary Driver Release". Did they really published source code with all comments? Would be great step up allowing many optimization methods, new features.
