Futuremark Releases PCMark 10

Starting today Futuremark is selling the PCMark 10 Professional edition, starting at $1495 per year. PCMark 10 is easy to install and run, no complicated configuration required. Run the main benchmark and you'll get a PCMark 10 score that you can use to compare systems.

PCMark 10 measures overall system performance for modern office work using tests based on real-world apps and activities. There are Extended, Express, and Custom run options for exploring other aspects of performance if needed. The siftware will be available in a benchmark, Express and Extended edition. June 22nd a 29.99 USD Advanced edition and Free Basic Edition will become available as well.

You can find more information here at Futuremark.

WTF!!! $1495 for a one year sub... Must be the most expensive benchmark software around.... looks like the people have to look elsewhere fore benchmark software.

Professional edition is for, as one might assume, professionals... Such as press/hardware reviewers. It's there to let them bench any number of machines.

WTF!!! $1495 for a one year sub...

If someone can afford intel processor for $9000 then he can afford $1500 to benchmark it with software optimized for it (they named that "real-world apps and activities") just to confirm that he made a good purchase, even if is not good.
