Flight Simulator 2020 Is So Big That It Won't Even Fit on ten double-layer DVDs
The flight-sim society is eager to try out the new and pending release Flight Simulator 2020. The title looks to becoming a hit. Not everybody has extremely fast broadband though, so some of you will still need to install physically from a DVD set.
Flight Simulator 2020 will also become available in stores in a physical version. And the game content is available on ten double-layer DVDs. And that's not even everything. I guess we're all slowly getting used to exorbitant storage needs for games, but this title top it all. Officially, the Flight Simulator needs 150 GB of space on your storage solution, that's a condition even for the minimum requirement.
Aerosoft will bring the two physical versions of this grand simulator to buyers in Europe. Including ten double-layer DVDs, and a printed manual in a thrilling box, it is an ideal way to enter the new era of flight simulation, ”said Mathijs Kok, administrator of the company's official forums.
There is the standard and premium deluxe version for 70 and 130 euros from August 18. Both releases contain a total of ten double-layer DVDs (DVD-9), which theoretically hold a total of 85 GB of data in the best case (8.5 GB per DVD). Even that is far from enough for all game data; the rest would need to be downloaded.
I guess for flight sim of this level, it was expected and worth it.

If anyone knows - > Will I be able to play MSFS 10 years from now? Will the streaming service/servers still be available? Up to what point will the map data be cached on my hdd before it starts cleaning up? Do I have an option as to how much data can be retained? (the more the merrier). Can I play the game at all if my internet service is disrupted?
