FCAT review: Radeon RX 480 vs GeForce GTX 1060 Frametimes

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/27/2016 10:00 AM | source: | 19 comment(s)

We review frame-pacing and frame time behavior with the Radeon RX 480, but will compare it with the GeForce GTX 1060, will FCAT reveal some stuff we need to know?

Check out the full article right here.

Rather a let down result for amd in aots, being its heavily sponsored game but can't achieved smooth frame time like nvidia.

With this chart, lower = better. Huge spikes above 40 ms to 50 ms can be considered a problem like a stutter or indicate a low frame-rate.

Though in their defense, none of that is really visible on screen.

Sooooo, where is this VISUAL frame time discrepancy?

That would be the Acer XG270HU.

Yes correct the RX480 Red Devil .. though I am awaiting a new BIOS for that one. Hope to have a review up by end of week or early next week.

gpu power

I would really love to see the gpu power usage comparison like what was done @ toms.

That way we can see the power difference between the gpu`s but the 8 gig of memory 256 bit bus and the 6 gig or memory 192 bit bus power difference.
I know the 256 requires more power so efficiency on the AMD GPU Polaris will close the gap against the 1060 but bye how much.
