Aka DirtectX12 Ultimate. Ubisoft's head of 3D programming Oleksandr Polishchuk revealed that the game will feature Ray Tracing, Variable Rate Shading, and FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS).

AMD and Ubisoft teamed up for that release, and the game was shown at AMD's YouTube channel led by Lisa Su. The video below shows details of what gamers can expect, as well as highlighting support for the technologies used in the new Radeon RX 6000.

“We were very impressed with the latest AMD technologies and joined forces to bring FidelityFX CAS, DXR Ray Tracing and Variable Rate Shading to Far Cry 6. We are working together to ensure a smooth 4K viewing experience. This requires a lot of bandwidth, memory, and a Radeon RX 6000 with Infinity Cache that can handle it easily while maintaining high FPS rates ”.

“One of the new features of AMD GPUs is Ray Tracing DXR, which models light rays closer to what happens in the real world. This involves complex calculations, but these graphics cards can offer it without any problem. FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening delivers a cleaner, more detailed image without compromising performance . Async Compute enables AMD GPUs to process graphics and compute workloads simultaneously, maximizing hardware utilization and offering gamers more performance, "concluded the programmer.

Far Cry 6 will also support “Hybrid SSR” (based on the video description), which is likely a reference to FidelityFX Stochastic Screen Space Reflections (SSSR). The game will arrive on May 25, 2021 and should be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
