Far Cry 6 Require GeForce RTX 3080 / Radeon RX 6900 XT for 4K @ 30FPS with Raytracing

With a little more than a month until the game's release, Ubisoft has released the official system requirements for Far Cry 6. The game will be available on October 7th for PC.

They give settings for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K at various frame rates, with and without ray-tracing engaged, so we can see exactly how well it will perform on our system before purchasing it. The choices for Ray-Tracing are very demanding, as can be seen in the screenshots, yet the minimum prerequisites will allow it to be played on nearly any modern machine.

In addition to the AMD front, the game will support FidelityFX Super Resolution, which will help to improve its overall performance with compatible cards.

Minimum requirements

1080p, 30fps, without DirectX Raytracing

  • CPU:  AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel i5-4460
  • GPU: AMD RX 460 4GB or Nvidia GTX 960 4GB
  • RAM:  8GB (Dual Channel)
  • Storage: 60GB HDD (SSD recommended)

  • GPU:  AMD RX 5700XT or Nvidia RTX 2070 Super
  • RAM:  16GB (Dual Channel)
  • Storage: 60GB HDD (SSD recommended) + 37GB for HD textures (optional)

1440p, 60fps, with DirectX Raytracing

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel i5-10600
  • GPU:  AMD RX 6800 or Nvidia RTX 3070

Jokes aside, I assume DLSS will be implemented at some point alleviating fps problem?

Don't assume that at all. Ubisoft games constantly underperform on Nvidia hardware and Ubi almost never implements any Nvidia features.

Man i hate those upscaling arguments .... Simple as that if you need to hold still get pictures and compare to native to see the difference they do their job. But i figured what is happening here ! Some among us are mutated hawks that can spot a dust patircle a km away so is natural they can spot such things in an action driven game .....

From the vids i've seen so far you can completely disable RT and not even notice.

That tends to be the case. RT is faked so well by so many games that it almost looks similar.

Sine when have PC games been a 30 FPS thing, do not PC gamers dislike that. I do not like 30 FPS in any PC Game it just sucks. Good thing for me I got a bunch of the Far Cry 6 codes ,so I will add them all together and I will play @4K Ultra Ray Tracing 240FPS. Problem SOLVED with no DLSS/FSR

3090 owner since uh...don't remember beginning 2021 before the prices went +700$
anyways...still havent tried RT, wanted to launch metro exodus the other day menu froze had to force quit....still haven't tried RT I guess control should...should go past the menus

like Kaleid says above not only good game devs can fake RT really well but it's often better looking as they add maybe irrealistic but atmospheric touches to the rooms and areas

@bobnewels : 30fps I can't even watch it makes me sick as if I drank too much alcohol, 60fps I refuse to play it hurts my eyes after what 7+years of 120fps, I don't think high fps gaming is something you can go back from
