Fallout 76 will be exclusive to Bethesda.net
Bethesda has announced that the beta and the final/retail versions of Fallout 76 will be exclusive to Bethesda.net. In other words, this is the first Fallout game in years that will not be coming to Steam and will stay exclusive to Bethesda’s launcher.
Fallout 76 releases on November 14th and its beta phase will begin this October!
Both the B.E.T.A. and the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net only). Stay tuned for exact B.E.T.A. timing for each platform here and @Fallout on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please note that the B.E.T.A. for Xbox One will begin first, followed by other platforms.

I don't want another buggy launcher for my games. Steam is the only DRM I need at this point. Also Bethesda trying to maximize their microtransaction profits is disgusting.
However there's NO excuse to PIRATE your game! If you don't like it, don't get it. It's as simple as that. You know it's criminal, wrong and ugly, save yourself the hassle.
No Im happy buying it after I get to try it thank you. Not throwing my money away.

What is one more company launcher to the mix? I will be reather pissed if they do same with the next elder scrolls game All my game for pc are in 3 places, steam/gog or on physical discs
I never liked the fallout games either but I do like elder scroll games between all the elder scroll games I probably have well ober 10000 hours in them, any not single one actual beat yet. I did recently manage to finish the main quest from skyrim though. wonder IF i can finish the other 3 expanisions before starting a new game haha

With steam, I have the ability to refund games, big picture mode, community features like reviews, discussions, and trading cards, and my pc gaming history from the past 7 years excluding diablo 3 and ac4 black flag. Most importantly, they've been doing this for so long that I trust them. Does bethesda expect me to have a 2fa app on my phone too when they eventually get compromised? Why on earth would I want to give up all these just so bethesda can make some more money? lol fuck off.
I passed on that quake game even for free because it wanted me to make an account with them and I intend to do it again if they shove that garbage in single player games. I'm fine if they go the gog and uplay route of having it on both plats (you know, actual competition instead of taking your ball and going home) but I don't want a client and forced login for single player games. If they want to go that way then I fully expect a rot to set in soon enough and end up being publishers I ignore like EA and Activision.

Except you'll never buy it. That's what all pirates say. "I try before I buy" and 99.9% of them never do. You're part of the reason these launchers and DRM out the a$$ exist

Well, servers don't run on air. You need to buy or rent servers, pay for power, internet traffic, air-conditioning, technical support, programmers team.
Thousands of games are released on steam and their developers can deal with this share. Also developers don't have to brother with all above stuff.
Bethesda is just greedy and wants to maximize their profits.
Also games on Steam tent to have higher prices than regional prices in many countries, so I think Bethesda wouldn't loose that match.
So true, I don't think that going to maximize their profits by much at most maybe 5% at best because now they have pay for outside service plus they deal all other stuff need make it work and maintenance and what ever else.
