Epic Games Store Is Giving A Lot Of Games Away In December
The Epic Games Store, which is known for providing at least one free game every week, is expected to double its bonus beginning in December. As in past years, the store will offer one free game per day, with the possibility of more at the end of the promotional time.
The same was true in 2020 and 2021, when the number of titles was expanded to 15, including high-budget blockbusters such as the most current Tomb Raider trilogy. The Epic Games Store will begin delivering games on December 15, according to a member of the dealabs site known as billbil-kun (who has a history of leaks). The daily action will last until January 10, 2023, and it is unknown which games will be given away.
This week, the PC Games Store is giving away free copies of Star Wars: Squadrons, a space shooter and simulator developed by Electronic Arts. Since its inception, the Epic Games Store has given away hundreds of free games, including GTA V, the Batman Arkham trilogy, and others. According to the responsible company, 89 separate titles were distributed in 2021 alone, with a total value of $2,120. In 2021, users claimed over 765 million free games.
Along with the free game distribution at the end of the year, the shop is set to launch a fresh promotion of selected titles. Remember that they have Black Friday 2022 specials available until November 29th, with discounts of up to 75% on various games.

This is an emotional topic people... even after years, we should have learned, that there's people who have very rational and true arguments for either side.
Sometimes all you do is grab a freebee, some people avoid EGS because they don't fancy Sweeney's business practices. Some people simply don't care.
But go on, Nicholas, @TheDeeGee and I will have some popcorn in the meantime.

What do you mean for anti-consumer bs?
Epic provides the game engine used by 2/3 of the games out there and it's free, except the royalties the game devs have to pay once they start earning more than 1 million.
Do you have an idea on how many millions it costs to develope a game engine of the same kind? Players should be thankfull that they exist.
Steam on the other hand is full of trash, there are tons of games that shouldn't even have granted access to the platform, considering their quality and the kind of content in them (there are porn and adult content games).
I have installed Steam when was released for the first time. At the time there were the same concerns that the people moved against the other game platforms that have been introduced later. Steam has just the advantage of being the first, so players are more used to it. That's the only difference. As for the content and the services: Valve got more money, so can offer more and better. But should be better to say "could offer", because in reality they "rest in their laurels" since a decade. We're still waiting the sequels of their most popular games and Source Engine 2.

Don't see the problem with the Epic launcher. Nobody is using Windows XP anymore and we all have lot of ram and storage space, so what's the harm in having two or three game launchers installed? You install them and you forget they exists until it's time to download and play what you want.
I have lot of games in the Epic's library and tried some of them.
There are lot of kids who don't have the money to buy games, that with Epic get triple A games for free: I bet they are very happy with this and don't give a damn about the Steam vs Epic competition.
It's free stuff and nobody is forcing you to take it. What to dislike?
