Epic Games Demonstrates Real-Time Ray Tracing With Star Wars

Continuing the theme from the Game Developers Conference this year, Epic Games in collaboration with ILMxLAB and NVIDIA are showing off real-time ray tracing in the Unreal 4 engine. The video is using Microsoft’s new DXR framework and NVIDIA RTX technology for Volta GPUs, powered by Microsoft's DirectX Ray Tracing API, or DXR.

So what is it going to cost us to use this new facny tech, let me guess, a new video card by any chance, in the region of say £1000. lol

Phasma is a pretty perfect example of a star wars character to test ray tracing on hahaha..

I can't help but take this as shots fired at EA.

I find the special effects and the scenario much better than the latest movies
