Epic Games - 15 days of free PC games starting December 17 (updated with game list)

Epic Games - 15 days of free PC games starting December 17 (updated with game list)

Epic Games announced that they will be giving away 15 games in their store starting on December 17th. The company will offer a free game every day until the end of the year, in addition to deep discounts at the rest of the store.

Epic's move is similar to last year's promotion, where players will be able to redeem a free game each day, which will be available for 24 hours between December 17, 2020 and January 1, 2021.

For its part, the Epic Games store did not reveal which games will be distributed for free, so they will seek to maintain the mystery and capture the attention of players every day. Last year, the company released teasers indicating which titles would be distributed for free in the store. In addition to the distribution of free games, Epic Games promises to offer deep discounts on various games during their holiday promotion, reaching up to 75% on the prices of some titles.

While the promotions will begin on Thursday.

By The Epic Games Store Team
We’re getting ready for the season of giving with our most festive sale of the year!

The Epic Games Store Holiday Sale begins on December 17, and we’ve got some goodies in store for you. Unwrap deals up to 75% off, but that’s not all....

Also starting December 17, we’ll be giving away a new game each day for two weeks straight - that’s right, it’s 15 Days of Free Games! Each game will be free to claim for just 24 hours, but they’re yours to keep forever.

Now is the perfect time to browse and add any games you’re interested in to your Wishlist while logged in to your Epic account - you’ll receive a notification if they go on sale.

Happy (Early) Holidays, everyone!

We have attached an alleged / not confirmed list that got leaked. The first game will be activated on December 17th at 5 p.m., so we will receive the last game on December 31st. At this time, of course, the winter sale will start in the Epic Game Store, where you can buy a few games for a small thaler if necessary. We're not 100% sure about this list, but if true, that would be awesome as they are triple-A games. No guarantees though, and fingers crossed as that sounds like it is too good to be true. Also, these might just be the titles that get that discount (hey, it's a possibility)

Presumed List of Epic Games Store Free Games

  • 17.12. – Dying Light
  • 18.12. – Resident Evil 7
  • 19.12. – The Witcher 3
  • 20.12. – Mass Effect Andromeda
  • 21.12. – Assassins Creed Origins
  • 22.12. – Metal Gear Solid V
  • 23.12. – The Evil Within 2
  • 24.12. – Far Cry 5
  • 25.12. – Fallout 4
  • 26.12. – Borderlands 3
  • 27.12. – Monster Hunter World
  • 28.12. – Dragon Age Inqusition
  • 29.12. – Horizon Zero Dawn
  • 30.12. – Ghost Recon Breakpoint
  • 31.12. – Hitman 2

A secondary rumor would indicate these on the following dates:

  • Tropico 5 on December 23rd 5:00 PM
  • Inside on December 24th 5:00 PM
  • Jurassic World Evolution December 31st 5:00 PM

Update: the first game is Cities: Skylines, making the earlier list look very unplausible.

17 - You can grab City Skylines for free here.
18 - You can grab Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty for free here
19 - You can Grab HyperScape here

Defence grid game is a good platform shooter, recommend you pick it up !

Defense Grid is one of the best tower defense games I've ever played, had it on Steam for years.

Who in the hell complains about free games? Don't like it? Don't download it!

Exactly i hate feeling like i have to play the old guy telling people how it used to be. I hated when my dad did it. Times change and obviously the reality changes with it. But i'll do it anyway cause i'm an old fart and it is what it is.

When i was young games were sold at around 80 to 120$ CAD. It was in the 80ies and early 90ies. So adjusted for inflation it's around between 160$ CAD and 220$ CAD in today's money. We were a family of 4. No need to say i had around 4 new games a year max. Outside of that i had to rent or buy used.

Renting sucked cause most games could not be completed in a single sitting and when we rented the game again the next weekend every time an ******* had overwritten our save during the week despite save slots being free.

Buying used sucked. No internet. You were stuck with what the local used game store had in stock and those ****** ****** blood sucking vampire man they were giving you nothing when buying and were selling for 4-5 times the amount paid. The can rot in hell for eternity.

When i was young kid i would have died getting the amount of free games we get today. I don't care much today i'm an IT analyst and have more than enough money to pay for my games. But man back when i was 10 in the 80ies being able to get all those games for free would have been a dream. I have something like 100 games on Epic Game Store and i did not pay a single one of them. I don't have time to play them but complaining about it is just silly.

Ok i'll now show myself out ...

Out of the 200 or so games I own i have 50 or so installed but due to strict regulations on how many hours are allowed in a day i play 1 maybe 2 on a daily basis, but it is handy having games updated and ready to play on my day off.
