Entry-level Radeon RX 6500XT and RX 6400 RDNA2 based Graphics cards listed with 4GB GDDR6 (updated)

Entry-level Radeon RX 6500XT and RX 6400 RDNA2 based Graphics cards listed with 4GB GDDR6 (updated)

Navi 24 might soon see the light of day. Japanese leaker dataminer @KOMACHI ENSAKA claims to have discovered the first listings for the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards, which have not yet been launched.

According to a series of tweets from KOMACHI, there are listings for Radeon RX 6500XT and RX 6400 SKUs with 4GB of GDDR6 memory available on the market. His statement is vague as to where those listings might be obtained (for example, on a webstore or a manufacturer's website). Such a claim, on the other hand, would imply that AMD has developed its first RDNA2 GPUs with a memory capacity less than 8GB (RX 6600XT). So there has been no clarification as to how or from where the two video cards have emerged, but the leaker has revealed they will contain 4GB of GDDR6 RAM each. Navi 24 would get 16 compute units that are 1024 stream processors at the most.

It is not known when AMD plans to release its Navi 24 graphics cards.

Update: Navi 24 and mobile graphics accelerators based on it already receive driver support in Linux. The Radeon RX 6500M and RX 6300M models are already included in the driver, and the performance class will also appear as a Pro / Workstation solution. There are no further technical details, but the picture of the new, even smaller RDNA-2 graphics cards comes together piece by piece.

290X 4GB here. I have to agree. Though it's still just enough to hang in there until the market collapses or the world ends.

Kinda hillarious if they do, especially when thinking back to AMD's below 8GB is not enough campaign.

If there's going to be a 8GB 6500 that would be awesome!
if it was priced correctly.

These are entry level cards, though. I kind of doubt AMD has campaigned for cards of this class to have 8GB minimum. Even only half-serious sunday gamers shouldn't be buying cards like this, unless they only play some old e-sports titles that even a Sodastream carbonator could run at 60fps. If that's all they do, then 4GB is plenty.

It all depends on what games you play, settings you use and resolution of your screen. 4Gb are enough for most people if you're willing to work with it.
And I would prefer a 4Gb card to no card at all. Now the price to performance, that will sting for sure.

The ironic part is that they used that campaign as a vs Nvidia thing, guess who delivered the fastest cards with less memory...
Oh, and they did add 8GB to rather low end cards.
