Elden Ring, the highly anticipated game from FromSoftware, has recently received shadow improvements through ray tracing in its latest update. However, the game lacks anti-aliasing features like NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR, causing criticism from the gaming community due to the GPU impact.

But, there is good news for gamers! Modder PureDark is currently working on integrating DLSS and FSR technologies into the game, which can result in an average performance gain of about 21%. The mod is still in beta and only available for download via Patreon, but it will be available to everyone once development is complete.

PureDark has tested the mod using Elden Ring at 4K with all graphics options at maximum settings, including ray tracing. Using DLSS, the game's FPS increased from 65.6 FPS to 83.5 FPS on average, improving the game's stability by contributing to the minimum FPS by 4-5. The modder is also working on integrating Intel XeSS and AMD FSR 2.0 with FidelityFX CAS, allowing non-GeForce RTX users to enjoy ray tracing without major GPU impact.

To run Elden Ring with ray tracing, FromSoftware has updated the game's hardware requirements. The minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT processor, 16 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, 12 GB graphics card. The recommended requirements include an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT processor, 16 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, 16 GB graphics card.

Overall, PureDark's mod brings much-needed enhancements to Elden Ring and allows gamers to enjoy ray tracing without sacrificing performance. With the mod in development, it won't be long before everyone can enjoy it. The modder is accepting support via Patreon for those who want early access to it.

The mod is currently in beta and available for download via Patreon, with the supporter tier starting at $5 per month.
