EIZO offers 27-inch LCD Color Edge CG2700 series for creators (with docking function)

EIZO unveiled the ColorEdge CG2700 range of 27-inch color management monitors with docking station functionality. The ColorEdge CG2700X supports 4K resolution, while the ColorEdge CG2700S supports WQHD resolution.

Both include a USB Type-C connection and have a maximum output power of 94W for the "ColorEdge CG2700X" and 92W for the "ColorEdge CG2700S." Even high-end laptop PCs with considerable power consumption, such as the MacBook Pro series, can be powered wirelessly. Additionally, the main unit features a wired LAN port and a docking station for USB3.1 Gen.1 Type-Ax2 and USB2.0 Type-Ax2, which enhances the ease of notebook PCs with restricted expandability.

Additionally, a video display that conforms to the HDR input / output characteristics of both the "Hybrid Log Gamma method" for broadcasting and the "PQ method" for distribution and film production, as well as the color standard "BT.2020" for 4K / 8K broadcasting. It includes a "Sync Signal" feature that automatically alters color settings (brightness, gamma, and color range) based on the color mode and input signal metadata.

The "Color Edge CG2700X" has a brightness of 500cd / m2, a contrast ratio of 1,450: 1, a reaction time of 13ms, a horizontal / vertical viewing angle of 178°, external dimensions of width 638mm, depth 245mm, height 415.9-570.9mm, and a weight of around 9.7kg (approx. 10.4kg with hood attached).

The "Color Edge CG2700S" has a brightness of 400cd / m2, a contrast ratio of 1,600: 1, a reaction time of 19ms, a horizontal / vertical viewing angle of 178°, external dimensions of width 638mm, depth 245mm, height 415.9-570.9mm, and a weight of around 9.4kg (approx. 10.1kg with hood attached).

In both cases, the liquid crystal panel is an IPS system with a color gamut of 98 percent of the digital cinema standard "DCI-P3," 99 percent of the photo standard "Adobe RGB," and 10-bit color reproduction. The stand features a -5 to 35 degree tilt range, 344 degree swivel, 90 degree pivot, and 155mm height adjustment, as well as a 5-year product warranty. Additionally, it includes a 6-month warranty against non-bright spots from the date of purchase.

Prices are tba.

If this is gonna be the little brother of the CG319X, it's gonna be close to €5000.

But let me tell you. Once you had an EIZO monitor of atleast the CS line, it's hard to go back really.

I'm still using a CX240, i will most likely replace that with a CS2740 in the future. Especially knowing these monitors don't suffer from IPS Glow, and the colors are so good. Also the Anti-Glare coating is superb, it's super fine and doesn't mess up the pixels.

Sure, they're not for gaming. But if you're extremely picky about image quality and don't play fast paced shooters you won't regret the CS line. The Japanese quality really shines.
